Breast areola reconstruction
Micropigmentation is used to recreate the image of an areola and/or a nipple for patients who have undergone breast cancer or breast reconstruction surgery.
The result is super-realistic with a reproduction of the smallest details in three-dimensional effect.

Realistic areolas and nipples
Areolar restoration is a speciality of paramedical micropigmentation that requires advanced training and experience.
These procedures improve the appearance and self-esteem of women and men who have undergone breast surgery. They « recreate » an areola and/or a nipple on the breast, minimize the appearance of scars and restore a natural shape and colour.
The result obtained is super-realistic. Details such as veins and tubercles are produced with a three-dimensional effect.
Different surgeries after which we intervene
Derma pigmentation is performed for complete, partial, semi or peri areolar restorations. Many circumstances can lead to this intervention :
- Non-conservative breast surgery (or mastectomy) which involves removing the breast most often following cancer
- Acts of breast reduction or augmentation
- Gynecomastia surgery
- Sex change procedures
Our breast reconstruction services are recognized with the profession and leading plastic surgeons refer their patients to our centers in Erpent and Marbella.
We have developed our state-of-the-art techniques over many years, all of which are safe, effective and completely tailored to your unique situation.
How does the micropigmentation of the areola and nipple occur?
As with every dermo pigmentation procedure, we ensure that a series of steps are followed to ensure the best results.
First consultation : colour and design of your areolas
A first consultation will allow you to learn about the process and choose the colour, size, and shape of the areola and nipple.
The dermopigmentist will help you choose the pigment colour closest to the shade of your still existing nipple and areola (if applicable).
If the reconstruction concerns both breasts (bilateral), the practitioner will help you choose a colour that closely matches your preoperative photographs (if available) or a colour that suits your complexion.
Derma pigmentation sessions
We systematically intervene in at least two sessions that we call progressive care. This protocol respects your skin and is the best guarantee of a super-realistic result.
The quantity of pigments applied during the first session is deliberately moderate to allow us to discover how your skin heals and reacts to pigments. This is especially important when covering scar tissue.
The second pigmentation session (usually the final one) aims to refine the results according to the behaviour of your skin. At the end of this session, the 3D effects will be striking.
Experienced operators
All MedicoDerm dermopigmentists have been trained by us. They master both morphology and micropigmentation techniques.
After care treatments
Appropriate care is to be followed at home after the session. It is important to follow these guidelines to get the best results.
The after care instructions after an areolar restoration are:
- No swimming pool, hammam, or sauna for 1 week
- No sun or solarium on the pigmented area for 1 week
- Do not tear small desquamations (peeled skin)
- We apply a second skin dressing that protects your breast from friction. It should be kept for a week
